Taking Action on Auto Theft in Ontario
TO THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF ONTARIO, WHEREAS Auto thefts continue to rise and have reached crisis levels in Ontario, violating the personal safety and security of Ontarians in their communities,
WHEREAS over 80% of stolen vehicles are destined for exportation, and are a large source of revenue for organized crime,
WHEREAS auto thefts cost Canadians over $1 billion dollars a year in direct and indirect economic losses,
We the undersigned petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as follows:
That the Provincial Government take leadership role by working with all levels of Government to address the root causes of auto theft in Ontario.
