TO THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF ONTARIO,
WHEREAS the use of personal data and secret algorithms to charge different consumers different prices for identical products is unjust and unfair to consumers;
WHEREAS consumers are unaware whether their goods and services are subject to hidden price inflation based on personal browsing and demographic data;
WHEREAS Ontario consumers deserve clear, consistent and transparent pricing information by businesses online and in store;
We the undersigned petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as follows: That the Government of Ontario should protect consumers from unfair dynamic pricing practices that use personal data and secret algorithms to charge different prices to different people for the same product or service.
